Artemis, Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt, sister to Apollo.
I made this for the God/Goddess contest for :icondianae:
Be gentle, this is technically my first photoshop drawing.
It has taken a very very long time to do. I learned a lot about photoshop while I was working on this.

update 5/17/09
THIS IS A WIP AGAIN. I WASN'T HAPPY WITH IT.

I'm fixing her hair at the moment and added a little more shading that still needs to be blended on other parts.

I decided I want to improve upon this more. I rushed to finish it between my finals and the contest deadline, which were coincidently the same time.

For the process I drew a pencil sketch, then scanned it and painted with photoshop, so those were the mediums I used.
I used a picture reference ([link] the movie cover of King Arthur) and another reference for the Greek dress [link]

I hope you guys like it!

^^ she's awesome!!
Wait ... I said silver didn't I? XD I'm so blond I'm jumbling out the words that are tumbling out of my head. Next thing we know, I'll be saying "ice-cream" or "PLUMNUTS!!!" in the middle of my sentences XD
What I meant to say before was:

"Yay finally! Someone that drew Artemis and colored her with a sliver bow! Not a gold bow! [that would be Apollo ....>.>] XD"

But anyway, I can't wait to see the outcome of your work =D

OK, if you go for realism you should not forget the shadows! They are everywhere, especially the dress, hair, the armpit of her right arm etc. Though she, being the goddess, could be a source of light, but in this case you should add some glowing around her. And I also think her eyes are too small. But the rest is pretty good, I wish you luck in the contest =)

Why did God create me? - There wasn't enough hair for a monkey.

It is better to be paranoid than dead.

History doesn't know subjunctive mood.
I think her hair should have a bit more detail, and if you can you should bring her chest up just a bit, and of course more shadows. =) But I have a feeling that was coming. =) Otherwise very nice! =) Good luck!

Now that we've got that down, let's dance!
